Frequently Asked Questions
1) How can I register for the show? – The PREFERRED way to register is via the Pre-Registration on www.eurekaspringsvwshow.com. You can also register on the Friday afternoon the show weekend starts between 12PM and 5PM, and on Saturday of the show from 7AM to 10AM.
2) What’s the weather like? – its August – so its going to be hot, it could also be cold, but mostly hot, it could be raining, but mostly hot, it might even snow, but mostly hot.
3) Where is the show area located? – the show location is the parking lot adjacent to the convention center, at the Inn of the Ozarks hotel. We also use most of the parking areas in and around the hotel with swap meet and car show spots.
4) Where do I park my trailer? – there is an area behind the McDonalds where trailers can be parked, we just ask you do not park in the business parking lots, but the gravel area behind.
5) Does Eureka Springs have a grocery store? Yes – Hart’s Family Center is a local grocery store. Open 7:30a.m -10:00 pm every day.
6) How soon can we set up for the car show or swap meet? 12:00 noon on Friday is our official setup time, the hotel has other guests and activities going on before the show.
7) Can we set up a canopy in the main show area? No, however, in limited locations around the edges of the show (where your canopy can be tied to the ground, it is allowed, the swap meet areas are allowed to have canopies.
8) Can we grill on property? No – the show location has a food stand inside the convention center as well as a restaurant on property. You can bring prepared food etc. just no grilling.
9) Can we enter our food truck? No – all food sales are provided thru the convention center or onsite restaurant.
10) Can we drive in and out of the show area during the show after we registered and parked? – very limited, for the safety of the large crowds, the show is very active, it is preferred that all cars stay in place the day of the show, so we ask you to limit the movement of cars until the line up for the parade.
11) When does the parade start? We begin lining up for the parade at about 2:45 p.m. The parade is a police escort through the downtown area. Along the way there will be numerous people to wave at and many kids to throw candy too.
12) Where is the best spot to watch the parade? The downtown area seems to be the most preferred spot to watch the parade. However, anywhere along the route is great viewing.
13) What goes on at the convention center? - The convention center will have a food stand, beer tent and indoor vendors, restrooms, and will be the location of our awards presentation.
14) Can I drive through the car show area to look at the cars during the show? – No, during the show on Saturday, entry into the show area is reserved for registered cars only.
15) What is there to do before and after the show? Many people like to cruise their vw around town, many people tailgate the show days leading up to the Eureka Springs show as well. There is also a wide variety of restaurants and scenic places to visit while you are staying for the show. The downtown shops are always a favorite, as well as the numerous other shops around town. Some notable activities include the passion play, Thorne chapel, wooden bridge, magic show, and live music can be found around town.
16) Does it cost to come look at the cars or shop at the Swap meet? No
17) Where do we park if we are not in the show? There is limited parking by the entrance of the hotel, but most of the parking is across the street at the community center parking lot.
18) Can we bring our pet? Yes, all animals shall be on a leash, and you must make plans to pick up after your animal as well as make sure they have plenty of water.
19) Can I park my RV at the car show parking lot and sleep overnight? No, there are plenty of campgrounds around the area to support motorhomes.
20) Will you have security Friday and Saturday night? No, we only have security for Friday night.
21) When are awards? Award are presented after we all get back from the parade. This is roughly 4:00 pm. on Saturday in the convention center.
22) What happens on Sunday? Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning we leave from the convention center and go on cruise through the Ozarks and make stops at scenic spots along the way, we also make a stop at the retirement homes for the residents to come out and enjoy the cars. We return just before lunch depending on how long we stay at our stops.
23) How does the weather affect the show. — The show will happen rain or shine, even Covid didn’t stop us!
